Christmas Brunch: Stuffed French Toast

12 slices bread, slightly stale
8 oz cream cheese
8 eggs
2 C milk
1/2 C maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon

Arrange half the bread slices in greased 13x9 baking dish. Spread each slice with cream cheese. Top with remaining bread. In a large bowl whisk the egg, milk, syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon; pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes prior to baking. Bake, covered, at 375 degrees for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes.
